Cape Cod styling — steep gabled roofs, cedar shingle siding — reads well but carries a maintenance penalty in salt air, and we discuss that trade-off before it gets specified. Elevated bungalow and Crab Shack forms are common here because piling foundations raise the living level above Base Flood Elevation.

Light, neutral palettes are standard in coastal interiors because they hold up visually against strong Gulf light and open water views. Natural textures — jute, wicker, rattan, linen — are common in furnishings. Materials that absorb moisture need more scrutiny here than inland.
